Lithium batteries dominate the automotive industry

Due to the adjustment of national policies on vehicle enterprises, electric vehicles, as a green and environmentally friendly means of transportation, are widely loved by consumers, which also greatly promotes the development of relevant parts industry. The development speed of batteries as the power source of electric vehicles tends to exceed the development speed of electric vehicles. Battery enterprises have laid out the field of ternary batteries one after another. Because of its own characteristics, the application of ternary battery in the field of special vehicle is not ideal. In contrast, iron lithium battery and polymer lithium battery show unique advantages.

In the newly supplemented catalogue of policies, lithium batteries account for the majority in passenger cars and other fields. It clearly supports new energy lithium batteries to replace lead-acid batteries. Lithium batteries are developing rapidly and the growth rate continues to rise.

At the same time, the safety of ternary batteries has also attracted the attention of the government. At the beginning of 2016, the Ministry of industry and information technology suspended the entry of ternary battery passenger cars into the recommended directory for this reason. Although the policy lifted the ban on ternary materials in 2017, ternary battery buses are still not seen in the first eight batches of recommended directories released by the Ministry of industry and information technology this year.

Correspondingly, among the four batches of recommended catalogues issued by the Ministry of industry and information technology, iron lithium batteries account for more than 70% of passenger cars. The reason is that in addition to stronger safety, it is also inseparable from the development of iron lithium battery technology itself. At present, the energy density of supporting iron lithium batteries in the market can meet the requirements of subsidy technology threshold.

Lithium iron batteries occupy a dominant position in the automotive field. Among the four batches of recommended catalogues issued by the Ministry of industry and information technology since the new supplement, the proportion of iron lithium batteries in the field of special vehicles has gradually increased, and the application proportion in the eighth batch of catalogues has reached 50%, exceeding the 36% proportion of ternary batteries for the first time.
